A Subsoiler is a tractor attachment that is used for tillage of the ground. It loosens and breaks up soil that is deeper than the top soil. It is made as a metal sharpened wing that is attached to tractor, which loosens the soil. They can be designed many ways, with multiple wings in a row or a single wing. Normally a subsoiler can deep as far as 12in compared to a plow which can only do about half of a subsoiler. Brands such as John Deere and King Kutter are known for their different styles of subsoiler.
